The Game has taken his rap game to a higher level with his new hit album Doctor's Advocate, and it's in his usual spirit of creativity and collaboration that he embarked on a truly unique project.
Game and noted rock drummer Travis Barker, formerly of Blink-182, got together recently for a ground-breaking recording event that was filmed for the AOL Music Session series and debuts today at www.aolmusic.com.
Barker was so excited to meld his punk-pop chops with the hip-hop stylings of The Game that he toughed out the session despite having one arm in a sling as the result of a recent fracture.
The pair, who share a bond as natives of Southern California, re-interpreted a number of tracks from Doctor’s Advocate, which was released Nov. 14 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart after selling almost 360,000 copies in its first week.
In addition to The Game's chart success, his new line of Hurricane sneakers in stores, and his performance for MTV's $2 Bill Concert, which aired over the Thanksgiving holiday, the man who calls himself the face of Los Angeles is now preparing to trek across Europe. He will touch down Dec. 4 in Manchester, England, and hit some of the continent's largest cities and music halls throughout the month.
In addition to the video of the performance on AOL, the audio recording from this special performance will be available exclusively on iTunes on December 28.
