Long before the highly anticipated release of the The Game’s new album, Doctor’s Advocate, hip-hop fans were already clubbin’ to the beat of the first street single from the LP, “It’s Okay (One Blood).”

Like most of the 17 tracks from the new album, “One Blood,” produced by Reefa and featuring guest Junior Reid, has the signature Game sound, a mixture of old-school, straight outta Compton beats and rhythms with lyrics that accurately describe what it’s like to grow up, face hardships and eventually flourish as a prominent member of the South Central L.A. rap scene.

“It’s OK, it get it poppin’,” The Game declares, opening the track, which set off a firestorm of interest in Doctor’s Advocate, which drops Nov. 14. “The whole club rockin’ like da 6-4 Impala.”

The lyric is a blatant reference to The Game’s neighborhood rap idols, N.W.A., and their late emcee, Eazy-E, and it sets the tone for an album that The Game insists will blow peoples’ minds.

“‘One Blood’ was just a teaser of what this album entails, which is a lot of classic albums from a prominent West Coast emcee,” The Game said. “I don’t take hip-hop lightly, man. This is my job, this is my profession. It’s also fun and I love to do it.”

Fans of The Game can feel his passion and confidence in the new album in lyrics from “One Blood” such as, “Bounce in the 6-4, throw up the West Side, man/Sell another five million albums, yes I am.”

Overall, The Game says the single was a perfect springboard to what he feels will be a landmark stepping stone in a legendary career.

“Everybody loves ‘One Blood,’” The Game said, “But ‘One Blood’ to me was just a street single. I like to call it a Frisbee. I just threw it out there hoping that people would catch it.

“And everybody caught it, they love it, and if they love that I know for sure they’re gonna love the rest of the album, because it’s that monumental.”
